Get Clear About What You Want To Do In Life

When you know what you want to do with your life, you can create things like habits and schedules to fit into that plan.

I used to believe that it was best to go with the flow, but I quickly realized that ‘the flow’ was wasting a lot of my time. I spent too much time doing nothing important (TV, YouTube, stressing out) because that’s what the flow consisted of for me.

Sound familiar?

When you get clear about what you want to do with your life, you can easily see where you need to make changes. Then you can find habits that will help you make those changes. And then you can create daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly goals to help you get what you want.

Your Life Consists Of Many Different Areas

Let me be clear: there are many different areas of your life that need attention, not just one or two.

For example:

  • Your partner/spouse
  • Finances
  • Friends
  • Family
  • Career
  • Personal Growth
  • Hobbies
  • Emotional Health
  • Physical Health
  • Experiences/Fun
  • Contribution to the world
  • Parenting

And anything else that is important to you.

I first started thinking about this when I learned about the Level 10 Life concept.

Then, I heard about Jon Butcher and his Lifebook program on Mindvalley and that’s when things got really exciting. Lifebook takes it up a notch from the Level 10 Life concept, forces you to be honest about 12 different areas of your life, and gives you the insight into what you want.

Break It Down And Gain Insight Into What You Need To Do

I decided which areas of my life were most important to me, decided how well I was doing in those areas, dug up some limiting beliefs that were keeping me stuck, created some habits to help me level up in all the areas of my life, came up with a daily schedule, and then committed to creating a happier and more productive life.

That’s exactly what I recommend you do.

The commitment is important. If you want to live a life on your terms, then you need to commit to doing the work; otherwise, you will fall back into old habits and things will never change.

Action: Go ahead and write down all the areas of your life that are important and decide what you want out of them. This awareness will help you discover what you need to change in your life and inspire new goals and bring to light new habits you want to master.
