Genesis 8:22

God created the world and everything in it, including humans. He did this out of love, and for our good. As we are made in his image, we have the ability to enjoy and care for his creation.

The Bible tells us that nature is good, and that it is a gift from God. It is a source of life and nourishment, and it is also a source of beauty. We are called to stewardship of Creation, which means using it responsibly and caring for it well.

In the Bible, there are many references to nature. For example, in Genesis 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.” This verse speaks of God’s creation of the world and all that is in it. Psalm 19:1-4 also speaks of God’s creation, saying, “The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world.” These verses show that even though nature does not speak with human words, it still communicates God’s glory to us.

In the New Testament, Jesus often used nature illustrations in His teaching. For example, in Matthew 5:45, He said, “For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.” Here, Jesus is teaching us that God is fair and impartial in His treatment of people. In another example, in Matthew 6:26-30, Jesus said, “Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.” In these verses, Jesus is teaching us not to worry, but to trust in God to provide for our needs.

There are many other examples of nature illustrations in the Bible. These verses show that God speaks to us through His creation. Nature is a beautiful way that God reveals Himself to us.

When we look at nature, we can see the handiwork of God. He created everything – from the smallest particle to the largest star. And He did it all for our benefit and enjoyment. So let us take care of nature, and appreciate all the wonderful gifts that God has given us.

When we misuse or abuse nature, we not only harm the environment, but also ourselves. We need to be good stewards of God’s creation, so that we can enjoy its many blessings.
