If you are doing something, then you have some faith inside of you that things are going to work out the way you want them to. We do things because we want things to happen in our lives and we believe that we might be able to get them. When we have faith that we are going to get them, we are much more willing to be productive and do what needs to be done. When we don’t have faith, what’s the point of being productive? If we don’t believe that the things we want are coming to us, then there’s no point in doing what needs to be done!
Nothing Gets Done Without Faith
You would not save for your kid’s future if you didn’t have faith that they were going to go to college and use the money wisely. Similarly, you would not save for your future if you did not have faith that you were going to live long enough to retire and enjoy the money.
Everything you do requires some level of faith. But, when you lose that faith, you stop doing things because your mistrust won’t allow it.
For instance, when you have faith that the restaurant is going to cook your dinner perfectly every time you visit, you go to the restaurant and order your favorite meal. If they stop cooking it perfectly, you lose that faith in them and you either find yourself another restaurant or you cook it at home!
When you have faith that your daily work tasks are going to help you find the satisfaction and success you are striving for, it’s easier to be productive in your day. But, when you start to lose trust in yourself, what you are doing, and what you are going to get from your efforts, it becomes easier to do nothing, because, why bother? If nothing is going to work out, then why bother doing anything?
A lack of faith affects your attitude in a big way. When your attitude is one of despair or pessimism, productivity is going to be hard because you will stop fighting for things you want.
We don’t work for things we can’t visualize or maintain healthy relationships when we predict everything will go wrong. We also don’t do healthy things for ourselves when we foresee sickness and tragedy.
Faith is essential to getting positive things done in our lives.
Faith In The Past
It’s important to trust that everything that’s happened to you, happened for a reason. Doing this will help you see that all your failures were actually meant to happen.
Once I really grasped this, I had an easier time having faith during rough times. I became aware that all those rough times in the past were my biggest teachers and catalysts to where I wanted to be, so my struggles now would do the same for my future.
For instance, all those bad relationships in my past taught me many things about myself and what I wanted in a partner. Each failed relationship helped me be more productive in my dating life. I could spot the traits that I didn’t want in guys. And I got better and better results in my relationships until I finally found the perfect man.
Career, health, happiness, personal development, relationships, spirituality – improving yourself in these areas of life require upsets. Those upsets teach you things you would never learn if things were running along perfectly.
So, have faith that your past taught you things to help you improve and get better results now.
Faith That What You Are Doing Is Right And On Track
This is a hard one. Especially when you are in a tight place and everything seems to be working against you. It’s hard to have faith that things are going to work out when you are covered in bad circumstances or grief. But, you still need to have that faith.
Faith is what will help you keep going. It will help diminish the negative emotions and keep you productive in your days.
I’ve found that even when you can’t be positive, faith is what will get you out of bed and keep you doing what you need to do.
The best way to have faith in the present is to remember your past. Remember that things always worked out, even when you thought they weren’t going to.
Also, remember all those surprise moments where things took a sudden turn – for the better! Things can change for the better in a moment, and you’ve experienced that!
And, remember that your efforts were never without some sort of reward. Maybe you achieved something and moved up a level. Or maybe you learned something from your efforts and were able to readjust your life so that you could head in a better direction.
If it worked then, it will work now. Things always work out if you just keep going forward.
When Big Delays Arise
T.D. Jakes once said that being delayed is a blessing because it helps you to be better prepared. This is a great way to look at things when you are stuck in a big delay and you are starting to lose faith.
For instance, if you are working your butt off in your business, and your income is not moving up, then it may be that you are not ready to move up to the next level yet. Maybe you wouldn’t be able to handle the extra business. Maybe you wouldn’t be able to make smart financial decisions, and you would end up losing it all. If you know that what you are doing should result in big things, then keep the faith that those big things will come when they should, and keep doing what you can to make them happen.
It also may be that you are not doing things that are very productive for your business. Your delay may be because you are doing something that doesn’t work over and over and over again. Make sure you constantly work on increasing your awareness in whatever you are doing so that you don’t do the wrong things over and over again. Have faith that you are capable of figuring out what you need to do if you just keep pushing forward and growing.
Faith In Your Future
It’s really important to have a life vision of some sort so that you can look forward to what’s to come and have faith that you can get it.
If you don’t have a picture painted for your future, what is there to have faith about? What is there to inspire you to be productive today for something better tomorrow?
For a long time, I had faith in my past and I knew that what I was doing had some sort of meaning, I just didn’t know where it was going to lead me, and that caused me to struggle with my productivity in a big way! Once I got clear on my life’s purpose and vision, it became much easier to be productive.
I would recommend this as the number one tip for productivity for many people. Getting your life in order, and knowing where you are going, gives you a ton of motivation to do what will help you get there.
