10 Of Jim Kwik’s Top Tips To Improve Your Brain Health

I’ve talked about how the Superbrain quest on Mindvalley is excellent for your productivity. Jim Kwik teaches you a bunch of techniques to remember things like names, numbers, list items, and more. But, he also teaches you how to strengthen your brain and your memory by paying attention to what you eat and what you do in life. That’s why a few of the lessons in the Superbrain quest are focused on brain foods and things to incorporate in your life for better brain health.

If you are interested in learning what things can really improve your brain health, Jim Kwik did a video with the London Real that talks about these things quickly.

I recommend you watch it. In the second half of the video, Jim helps you remember what the tips are. You will be amazed at how easy it is to remember the tips he talks about!

How many did you remember?

If you don’t have time to watch the video, below is a summary of the main tips Jim talks about for better brain health.

  1. Eat more brain foods such as blueberries, avocados, or dark chocolate.
  2. Kill automatic negative self-talk.
  3. Exercise more.
  4. Take brain supplements.
  5. Surround yourself with a positive peer group that reminds you of who you want to be.
  6. Surround yourself with a tidy, clean environment.
  7. Get more, better sleep because it’s super important.
  8. Protect your brain from injury and electromagnetic fields.
  9. Learn new things and improve your brain neuroplasticity.
  10. Manage your stress.

How You Memorize This List With One Of Jim Kwik’s Techniques

This memory technique taught by Jim Kwik is something he also teaches in the Superbrain quest. He uses his office as the visual for this technique, but you can use any place you are familiar with.

I love this technique because you can use it for so many things. You essentially associate one item from the list with one item in the place.

Following is the version he talks about with a little of my own visualization thrown in.

Imagine yourself driving to Jim’s office.

You get to the parking lot, and there is a buffet with a ton of brain-friendly food (like dark chocolate) waiting for you when you get out of the car.

Then you walk over to the bridge on the way to the building and you have to cross a bridge that has a ton of ants on it. You have to kill those ants by stepping on them to get over the bridge.

When you get over the bridge, you walk to the elevator, and, in it, you exercise as you are going up to Jim’s floor.

When the door opens, you walk into the hallway and you see a bunch of brain vitamins laying on the floor all the way up to Jim’s office. You have to maneuver your way around these vitamins to get to the office.

When you open the door to the office, you look to the left and see the closest. Inside, your positive peer group is stuffed into the closest cheering you on.

Then you walk up to the receptionist and you see that she is cleaning the desk and everything around it and the whole environment is very clean.

You look up behind the desk and see a fish tank and notice that all the fish ae in pajamas and are all getting some good sleep.

Then you walk to the classroom and notice the door is locked. So, you put on your helmet to protect your brain, and then you head-butt the door to open it.

Once inside, you notice that Jim is inside writing on the board and he’s writing New Learnings.

Lastly, imagine a bonsai tree in the room that you need to cut or this class with Jim. Imagine how relaxing it is and how it helps you manage your stress as you chill out and focus.

You can do this technique with any place you are familiar with. If you have a list, imagine yourself going through the place and then associate items from that list with areas in the place you are touring.

Fun, right?
