How To Celebrate January’s Daily Holidays Like You Give A Shit

It’s January and every day is a day to celebrate. But, if you don’t know what to celebrate this month, take a page out of the daily holiday book. You will find yourself celebrating in a new way each day and adding some awesomeness to your life as you do so.

How To Celebrate January's Daily Holidays Like You Give A Shit

January 1st – New Years Day

Reflect on the year coming up and what you want to get out of it. What can you create by the end of the year? What can you learn, accomplish, or contribute this year? Reflect on these questions and come up with some ideas on how to make this year a great year.

A great way to do this is to challenge yourself to take Lifebook Online. It’s a 6-week course where you take a deep dive into 12 categories of your life and decide where you want to be in them. It will help you gain clarity and purpose in the year ahead and give you the tools to check off some big goals and make some big changes this year.

January 2nd – World Introvert Day

If you are a shy person who considers yourself an introvert, then this is your day! Celebrate you for who you are. Learn why you are so awesome. For instance, you can learn about your value in the workplace.

If you are not an introvert, celebrate those who are in your life. Let them know that you think they are awesome. Buy them a funny gift or just a gift in general.

January 3rd – Remember You Die Day

If you are going to focus on the fact that you are going to die, do it today and get it all out. Let it motivate you to be more kind, loving, and compassionate. Let it motivate you to do something that counts today. Celebrate your life and the fact that you woke up today. Embrace the ‘isness’ of life and how the best thing you can do is be present today and every day so that you make the most of your time here before you die.

January 4th – World Hypnotism Day

Explore how your subconscious plays a major part in your everyday life. Once you understand that you can influence your subconscious mind, which influences your life, you will understand how powerful hypnotism can be as a personal development tool. It can help you reach into your subconscious mind and make some changes in there that help you live a happier and more successful life. Celebrate that fact!

If you want to try a free hypnosis session, I recommend choosing a session from this list on Hypnosis Live. Hypnosis Live has some of the best hypnosis sessions I’ve ever tried. I think you will be impressed with how the hypnosis session helps you see things in a different light and feel different as a result. If you use them enough, you are going to see some positive changes in your life.

January 5th – Bird Day

How well do you know birds? Take today to learn a little bit about them and expand your awareness around birds. Celebrate their existence and what they add to our lives.

For instance, did you know that chickens are extremely intelligent?

It’s interesting to me that some people care about keeping certain birds safe, free, and happy, but view other birds as food or property. Take this day to expand your awareness around birds that are viewed as such and, maybe even take on a 30-day vegan challenge so you can stop eating birds for a bit if you feel inspired to do so.

January 6th – Bean Day

As you consider the vegan challenge from yesterday, consider the benefits of beans today and how they can provide you with a powerhouse of nutrients. If you do, you may find yourself wanting to schedule in more beans into your menu rotation.

Make yourself some chili today or, if you want to learn more to the lentil side, you can try the best lentil soup in the whole entire world… or at least in my world. I’ve loved this soup for years!

January 7th – I’m Not Going To Take It Anymore Day

Don’t use this day to be a jerk and tell people how stupid they are. Instead, reflect on your life and the things you don’t want to take anymore. Then create a plan to overcome them.

For instance, if you are tired all the time, then decide you are not going to take it anymore. Start researching different things that may be making you tired. Get up and do things differently to see if that helps you with your tiredness.

Today could be the day that helps you overcome an issue you’ve been having for a long time that you never thought you would overcome.

January 8th – War on Poverty Day

Take today to reflect on the fact that there is a lot of poverty in this world. In my readings, I remember one woman who said that ending poverty is one of the things we can do to save the world. It’s always stuck with me even though I can’t remember who said it.

It’s good to feel gratitude for where you are and what you have. Then pick one thing you can to do to help people who are living in poverty.

It may be something as simple as supporting someone who is working towards ending poverty. Or, you may want to go deeper and pick something from this list.

January 9th – Play God Day

Pretend you are a caring and compassionate God and do things in line with those traits. Give, help, and encourage other people.

You may also want to see yourself as a powerful being who can change the shape of your life simply by changing the way you view yourself and your powers. If you want to dig deeper into how you can move out of a stage of having things being done to you into a stage of creating your own life, you may want to check out Becoming Limitless by Vishen Lakhiani.

January 10th – Cut Your Energy Costs Day

We all know that using less energy is good for the environment and for our budget, but how do we do it? Stop wondering today. Use this day to research how you can start cutting your energy costs for the coming weeks, months, and years. Then, get busy implementing some things.

January 11th – Cigarettes Are Hazardous To Your Health Day

My grandmother was encouraged to smoke by her doctor when she was experiencing high amounts of stress in her younger years. She smoked for 60 years after that because of that ignorant doctor.

We now know that smoking is stupid. It does nothing for you but fills you up with nicotine. It doesn’t help you be better. It doesn’t give you energy or help you relax. It doesn’t make you more confident or cool. It doesn’t make you more social or fun. It just fills you up with nicotine so you can stop craving a cigarette and do all those things that you think the cigarette is doing for you. You can read Alan Carr’s easy way to quit smoking if you don’t believe me.

Pass on the message today. Smoking is hazardous to your health and just plain pointless.

January 12th – Vision Board Day

You may have an idea of what you want out of life, but is that vision in front of your face? If not, you may be doing yourself a disservice. Vision boards help you hone in on what you want and see things that can help you get what you want.

Have you ever noticed that when you want a certain type of car you see them everywhere? That’s what happens when your brain focuses on what you want. It searches out things that are related to or equal to what you want. It helps you see opportunities that you might not otherwise see.

There are many ways to make a vision board. I recommend dynamic vision boards with pictures, videos, music, and affirmations – such as Mind Movies for creating vision boards. It’s the best way to immerse yourself into your visions and keep your focus on them throughout your day.

January 13th – Make Your Dream Come True Day

Stop wishing and start doing. I know that Lifebook Online will help you find your dreams and work towards making them come true. But, if you don’t want to take Lifebook, then you may want to write down that dream you have and start breaking it down into smaller steps. As you keep getting into smaller and smaller steps to achieve your dream, you are going to find yourself breaking things down into what you can do today to take one step towards making your dream come true. Do it! Your intuition has given you some advice and the best thing you can do to make your dream come true is to take one action today that helps you get closer to it. Then, do the same tomorrow and every day afterward.

January 14th – Organize Your Home Day

Having an organized home doesn’t just make life easier, it’s also beneficial to your health.

I follow some YouTubers that keep a clean and organized home. They are inspirational and motivational, and you may want to start following them too. If you watch them consistently, you will be on your way to a more organized home in no time.

January 15th – Strawberry Ice Cream Day

Make this a yummy day to eat some strawberry ice cream and feel good.

If you want to go a little further, take today to eat some vegan ice cream and start a dairy-free journey of yumminess.

January 16th – Nothing Day

Take today to stop doing those things that stress you out. You may want to do a digital detox today. Or, you may want to leave the chores for the day and spend time with loved ones instead. Or, you may just want to lay around and meditate all day on the couch. It’s up to you, but use this day to do what you love and drop what you don’t.

January 17th – Benjamin Franklin Day

Read Benjamin Franklin’s rules and think about what you agree with, what you don’t, and what you could apply to your life starting today.

Ben Franklin 13 Virtues

January 18th – Winnie The Pooh Day

Be more like Winnie The Pooh today! He’s a loveable, friendly, thoughtful, and insightful bear. If we all were a little more like Winnie The Pooh, this world would be better for it.

January 19th – Popcorn Day

Did you know that most popcorn at theaters is vegan? Just wanted you to know that if you are trying vegan on for size this month, you are probably pretty good. Just do a quick check before you head out.

But, if you aren’t going to a movie today, you can always just melt some vegan butter on your popcorn. Or, here are some recipes for you to try out:

  1. Spicy peanut butter caramel corn
  2. Cinnamon Maple Caramel Popcorn
  3. Dorito® Popcorn

January 20th – Cheese Lover’s Day

Yes, you guessed it. I’m going to talk about celebrating this day by trying some vegan cheese near you.

Vegan cheese used to be pretty bad, but now it’s amazing what people are coming up with. If you haven’t tried Miyoko’s cheese yet, you may want to try that as soon as possible. Especially the double cream chive cheese.

A great cheese recipe to try out is this cranberry and thyme vegan cheese ball. It’s soooo good.

Just give vegan cheese a chance today as a way to celebrate cheese lover’s day without the use of animals.

January 21st – Squirrel Appreciation Day

Take a break from your regular cat videos to watch these baby squirrels… adopted by a cat. It’s a great reminder that we should all take care of each other, whether we are a kitten or a baby squirrel. Love and compassion are needed by all.

January 22nd – Celebration of Life Day

It’s easy to celebrate the good things that have happened in life. But, what better way to celebrate life than to look back on all the bad things you’ve experienced throughout it? All those hardships and setbacks were actually lessons in disguise that helped make you who you are today. They were vital in getting you to where you are and they will be vital for getting you to where you want to be.

If you need some more life lessons, here are some Confucius quotes to help you contemplate your life and what you have done and will do going forward.

January 23rd – Handwriting Day

Get back to basics today and write some stuff down – on paper. Start a journal for increased productivity. Get yourself a planner, like the Happy Planner, and practice your handwriting as you schedule important dates coming up.

Writing things down can help you remember them better and also make them more impactful as you not only think about something, but you see and read it as well.

January 24th – Compliment Day

Compliment as many people as you can today. You are going to notice that you will feel good as you do so, and others will feel good as well. And, without you knowing, they will likely pass on the compliments you gave them to other people creating a wonderful feel-good day for many people.

January 25th – Opposite Day

Use this day to do the opposite of any negative habits you have. Just for one day.

For example, if you complain all the time, then use the Opposite Day to speak positively all day.

See how you feel at the end of the day and decide whether any of your habits may be better off in the opposite.

January 26th – Green Juice Day

Celebrate good health today by making yourself a green juice or buying one. As you drink your green juice, contemplate other things you can do in your life to make healthier food choices.

January 27th – Holocaust Memorial Day

Take some time today to honor the people who died in the holocaust. It may seem grim, but it’s important to reflect on periods in life like this. Why? It helps us do better. We remember the tragedy of it all and we reaffirm why we want to do good things and treat people the way we want to be treated.

January 28th – Data Privacy Day

The purpose of this day is to raise awareness and promote data privacy and protection practices. Brush up on keeping your data safe wherever you feel the need to do so.

Here’s something to get you started as you inform yourself.

January 29th – Seeing Eye Dog Day

Speaking of educating yourself, you may want to take this day to educate yourself on all things guide dogs, including etiquette around guide dogs and their people.

January 30th – Thank Your Mentor Day

What a great day to thank someone who has mentored you in some way. Without mentors, we wouldn’t get far in life. They give us their wisdom and guidance for free, and we often don’t give them the credit that they deserve for helping us get to where we are today.

January 31st – Inspire Your Heart With Art Day

Art is simply an expression of human creativity and imagination. And it feels really good to get creative. Therefore, use this day to get creative and make some that inspires your heart (or someone else’s, which will, in turn, inspire yours!).

One thing I like to do is do a painting that fits in with the next month. For example, a heart painting for February or falling leaves for September. Then I hang it up so I and anyone who comes to visit can see it and feel the essence of the month that I feel.

But you can go out and take a creative class, make a creative dinner, or create something else that makes your heart sing and feel good.
