Productivity Tip #10: Eat For Energy Because It’s Really Important

I know a lot of people who don’t like to think about what they eat. They eat what they want when they want. I’ve done it too. But, if you want to be productive, you must eat for energy.

Eat For Energy: It’s Super Important

If every day consists of a holiday meal for you, then crashing on the couch is going to be the only thing you are productive at.

But, you don’t have to overeat in order to lose energy and be unproductive. Eating a poor diet and not eating for energy are two things that will bring on the energy crashes and lack of productivity.

This isn’t going to be the longest productivity tip in the list, but it is one of the most important! The way you eat will have a huge influence on how much energy you have – both physical and mental energy – and how much you are able to get done. Stamina, focus, and creativity all stem from proper eating.

Unless I know that I’m going to be laying around doing nothing all day (holidays with the family, for example), I eat for energy because I want to make the most of my days.

We all need to eat different things depending on our diet, hormones, and activity level, but I’ve found that – for me, anyway, it’s just about eating whole foods in balance.

It’s also important not to overeat. It doesn’t matter how healthy the food is, if you overeat, you are going to feel tired. So, you need to focus on what you eat and how much of it you put down each meal.

Not An Expert…

I’m not an expert in nutrition, but I know how important eating right is for energy and what works for me. If you are tired after eating, the following are some resources to check out so that you can develop your own eating routine that works for you.
